Halfway to Nowhere

These shoes were left on the curbside. They look very confused.
Where are we going? What path do I take? Do I go down 4th Ave or do I head down 12th Street? Should I get a college degree in photography? Does my dog miss me? I'm tired. Am I happy? What should I do?

I really like your picture... we can feel the human presence without seeing any people. I also like the unknown atmosphere which is given off.

I have a photo that has almost the same meaning, even though it looks very different from yours, and I really like the color tone you used here. It adds to the confusing chaos from the orientation of the shoes.

By the way, the photo you asked me about, the one with the building and the windows, I took it at night, when there were a lot of reflections on the window, so each window had different colors. Then I modified it on photoshop to bring out those colors.

It's really interesting this photograph and i really like the way you write the comments because they are not boring and they even play with the image and make us imagine a whole story about the shoes instead of only looking at the picture.

i'm enjoying the quirkiness of this photo. i agree with the above comment of feeling a human presence despite it being void of human beings in the photograph.

It seems like abandoned shoes are usually alone, so it is interesting that you found a pair of shoes left on the curb. They are positioned perfectly forlornly; did you shoot them as you found them, or did you nudge one of 'em with your toe?
